Abstract
An investigation of the association between minor physical anomalies and schizophrenia. The family history of schizophrenia is associated with abnormalities of the mouth. The association between minor physical anomalies in the patients and obstetric complications in their mothers appear to be confined to incidences where the mother had a history of bleeding in early pregnancy. The interpretation is that the associated physical anomalies indicate early dismorphogenesis in schizophrenia, particularly in males.
Diskussion
Increasing and converging evidence suggest that anomalies develop prenatally in schizophrenia.
